Rethinking Education and New Inspiration

We are headed up to the Rethinking Education Conference tomorrow and will be back Monday. I'm so excited to meet some families homeschooling and unschooling. I hope to connect with a real person that lives in the area, well, within 30-40 miles of us. The conference is in Irving, TX so hopefully... There will be lots of fun for kids and parents and we need to have some social play time around here. We are all lonely for some friends with whom we have something in common.

I finally started a new painting series. I haven't been motivated lately and have been feeling a little down the last few days. I need to connect with someone with similar experiences so I don't feel so weird and alone in my ideas and experiences. My husband and my mom are great but they can't take the place of girlfriends. Feeling a little gloomy I stumbled across this site . And I found someone with whom I have alot in common. I love her paintings and she is gluten free! We have very similar influences, Diebenkorn and Frankenthaller, I loved these artists when I was in school. So nice to be reminded of them. Her studio is amazing, she has a wall mounted easel! There's something about painting right on the wall. The canvas envelopes the painter and all time is lost. I was inspired to get the paints out and
this is the first layer. Nothing profound people, just the first layer.

I decided to mix colors from around my home and I love these tough little flowers. So I used them as a jumping off place.

Happy Labor Day Weekend!
