Back to Cali...

We are back in San Diego. We are lovin the warm weather and beautiful parks, beaches and people. Lucy and I have been taking care of her cousin Lilly in the afternoons. T his is great practice for having another kid. It has been alot of fun and kinda like riding a bike with all the baby stuff, she's 9 months old. Lilly is happy to hang out and watch Lucy run around all afternoon. Lucy has had a few days when she wanted Lilly to go away and not come back but as I get more comfortable with caring for Lilly I can pay more attention and engage Lucy in some fun games with Lilly. I'm looking for more activities that we are all happy to do together. any ideas?

I was so happy and nervous to meet up with Mandy and Elaine at a park in Santee. It was so much fun and wonderful to meet the real people behind the blogs. I felt such a connection with Mandy, we have alot in common and it's so great to have a friend that unschools! Her daughters, Olivia and Violet are so creative. Lucy believes she and Violet are the same age, 8, and Olivia is much younger, Lucy's real age, 3. Hmmm...
I knew Elaine from last year and she is even more brilliant in person, I had forgotten, what an exciting momma. I'm such a social idiot, I didn't even say goodbye when she left, I hope she forgives me and overlooks for I was a bit overwhelmed coming out of my Texas isolation to the big city and having real moms to talk with and be inspired by. Elaine has amazing energy and is wonderful fun.

I love San Diego.

Oh, no worries there! I figured you were just getting back into the swing of things. We hope to see more of you!

Perhaps she is an "old soul" as is Violet, maybe that is why she feels the connection. Violet has that connection with many (or so I've heard from many). I'm glad you felt a connection with me. I was nervous too, and felt like I had a rather silly nervous laughter a few times (so silly huh?) Looking forward to seeing you again. Olivia has a contagious virus right now, but will connect with you again real soon!

so happy for you!!!

i have lived in charleston for over 2 years now and i had connected with one family and after a year and a half it fell apart. we may fix it, we may not.

i have one friend that i rarely see here. and i've met another great mom that was supposed to come over today but her kiddling was sick.

connecting with great mamas is so wonderful...but soo soo hard for me. socially, i am not so graceful. i get ubernervous. i stay home so much that i forget how to be out there.

anyway. it sounds so wonderful..the weather and parks and friends. i'm waiting oh so patiently for the summer to go to the beaches and the pool and the parks.

big hugs to you!!
