Catch Up

So I haven't blogged in over a month. Here's what we've been doing:

We went to Schlitterbahn waterpark with my brother his wife and daughter, Austin, my mom and Mr. Rick.

My Auntie and Lucy's cousin Hunter came for an overnight visit.

I had a birthday, I'm 38 now.

We went to the Rethinking Education Conference in Dallas. Ren Allen spoke, she was fantastic. I wish I had met her, not sure why I didn't, I am too shy! and she seemed so busy. Lucy got sick the second day, too, I was busy with that but no excuse, I would've loved to have met her! What's wrong with me?!?!?!? Lucy went to Kid Village and stayed there without us a couple times, that's a big step for her! I love going, its like getting a fresh perspective, a confidence booster.

THe Cotton Pickin Festival was here and we watched the twirling school and the cheerleaders preform, Lucy loved it but has no interest in taking any classes, she says she wants to teach herself dance, gymnastics, ect. I have to say, she is an amazing dancer! She studies the had movements of ice skaters and ballerinas and is incredibly graceful. and I don't want to inhibit that love and creativity with lessons, although we thought it would be a good place for her to meet new friends, thank goodness she knows what she wants and doesn't want! I enjoy watching her move to music so much!

We babysat baby James, our neighbor down the road, he's almost 2. I don't think I want another baby, I got really frustrated and I wasn't very nice to Lucy, I wasn't happy with myself, it wouldve all been OK if I could've just let go of trying to give him a nap. I know its different when the baby is your own but I wasn't happy with the level of frustration I was feeling, hmmmm. We are thinking of trying next month. I just don't know how it will work, going back and forth to SD. Lucy will be close to 5, if we decide to go for it, a 5 year old is pretty capable, right?

My mom had a birthday, she's 59! We baked a coconut flour cake.

Mom's birthday

I also had my 20 year class reunion. It was fun. Interesting. Great to see everyone.

class of 1987

Lucy's birthday is coming up next week! She will be 4! and we finally got a new camera!

It's so great to see you back online, Amanda, and great to see your faces! How neat you got to hear Ren. I get like that too, too shy to approach them (RUers that we meet or read online) We're going to Life is Good again next year, looking forward to it. I'll send an email soon!
Happy Birthday to you! And, Happy Birthday to Lucy!

Oh, happy belated b-day to you Amanda! Don't beat yourself over how you are with the baby. It'll be easier, trust me (speaking from lack of sleep and four kids clawing at me!) ;-)
